If the thermometer had not kicked up to well over 100 degrees today, I think Jess and I would have reveled more thoroughly in the beauty of this hilly city. As it was, we were pretty exhausted by walking very slowly all day, and always thirsty despite drinking at least half a liter of water every hour. We cooled ourselves with gelato and smoothies as opportunities arose, and, amidst our efforts to stay sane and healthy in the heat, found time to get our first glimpse of the Alhambra from the Plaza of St. Nicolas (pictured below). Tomorrow is the day we actually go inside.
