Many pintxos are fritos - fried appetizers. Many pintxos at Bar Fitero, where we made friends with the bartenders tonight, as well as at some of the nicer bars we have visited in Pamplona include Roquefort cheese. So, of course, Jess and I ordered a "brick" of fried Roquefort. Absolutely a-m-a-z-i-n-g. I didn't know food could taste and feel so good.
Edit: Jess and I were given an English translation of the pintxos menu we had been ordering from. It turns out that the brick of "pure" fried cheese my vegetarian friend and I ate was actually packed with lamb sweetmeats as well. Oops. (She regrets nothing :)
